Question:
Is it possible to combine Fractum with our present machines?
Answer:
We have worked with all types of machinery and the only requirement is that the excavator must be a machine of at least 40 tonnes. Apart from this, there are no limits when combining Fractum with other machines. It is possible to make Fractum fit any machine on the market.
Question:
Can Fractum be operated in other positions than a vertical position?
Answer:
Fractum delivers maximum impact energy when it is operated in a vertical position, however, in most cases is not a problem to operate it in a slightly tilted position. Depending on the skills of the operator, we normally do not recommend a tilted position of up to 30 deg in order to have an acceptable operation of the machine.
Question:
Does it take long for our operator to learn to operate Fractum?
Answer:
No. We have many examples that show how easy Fractum is to operate. Any experienced excavator driver can handle Fractum. In general, it depends on the job. There is a difference in whether Fractum is operated in an iron making plant or in a quarry. When working in iron making plants, the operator has to be gentle in order to avoid damage on the ladle. If, on the other hand, the machine is operated in quarries, focus is more on the need for high energy, and so the operator does not need to slow down the operation like in iron making plants.
Question:
Does Fractum use any kind of explosives or gasses to produce the energy?
Answer:
No. Fractum only needs hydraulic oil from the excavator. In most cases the load on the excavator is very low, which makes it possible to use older types of excavators, etc. At the same time the operator’s working environment is increased dramatically due to the much lower noise etc., when compared to the usage of hydraulic hammers.
Question:
With the high impact energy that is needed for each stroke, it must be vital that the hammerhead is capable of transferring the energy without breakage.
Answer:
Yes, this is one of the areas where sophisticated knowledge has been used. We have studied this intensively and the design, the shape and material used for the hammerhead have been optimised. Further, the tip of the hammerhead, which is most exposed to wear and tear can be replaced and/or be refurbished with new parts by the operator on the site. Refurbished or new tips can be forwarded on request to any part of the world. In areas where several Fractum hammers are in operation, a consignment stock in a warehouse can be established.
