This is a time consuming and difficult task in most steel works. The present methods of using a steel ball, a hydraulic hammer or banging the pot against other objects, give a very high frequency of pot damage and in addition the personal safety is often critical when performing this kind of deskulling.

Because Fractum's impact energy can be adjusted on the fly, we are able to perform the deskulling process with a higher success rate and without destroying the pots. The Fractum technology is able to take slag pots handled by a ladle or by overhead cranes.

If the skull freezes in the pot, the Fractum technology is able to take out the skull with a success rate that exceeds the present methods and it also takes less time than with traditional methods like oxy-cutting.
